Angela Carr
Advice please - a regular, registered customer was unable to change a password when logging in and password forgotten. I think that I can change her password but unsure of the ethics of this. How do I advise the customer as to what to do?
ayz1
I usually go to the customers record in admin. In the General section you can set a new password, email it to the customer but recommend they change it once they have logged in.
keat
I would normally change the password to something like the last 5 digits of his mobile number, and then email the customer informing of such and advise he changes it when logged in. By using the last 5 digits of his mobile number, you are offering a small amount of security, ie a number not known to everyone or divulged in an email.
