Discount Code Creation Errors

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

See attached image, i am trying to setup a free shipping for orders over £100 discount code but
it keeps telling me the code has expired when i try and use it?
Can anyone see in the screenshot what i am doing wrong?

Thank You,

Adrian.

Is there any particular reason that you want to use a discount coupon for this ?  Why not simply setup ashipping gateway that gives you free shipping when the sub-total is over £100

I had thought about the shipping gateway but with a voucher i can just set a time period and forget about it if you get what i mean

Only guessing but it may not be working because there is no actual discount set. If you have a fixed postage rate you can maybe get it to work by setting the discount to that value and then tick Discount applies to shipping cost.

Hmm yes i see what you mean, but why is there a free shipping option if it doesn't work when you tick it lol?

I haven't verified the code just yet, but the control panel is asking for how much value you want to take off, and you have zero. This is not the same as wanting the final price set at a particular value. That is, "I want to subtract from the initial value 100% of that value to get the final value" versus "I want to set zero as the final value".

As an experiment, set the Discount Value to 100. Enable "Discount applies to shipping" and disable "Free shipping".
