huggettm
Can anyone make a plugin to manually set related products in bulk?
havenswift-hosting
Not sure what you mean by manually setting related products in bulk but have you seen the plugin from @Noodleman https://www.cubecart.com/extensions/plugins/related-products-manual-automated-recommendations - we have clients using this and it works well and is already integrated with our Retail Therapy skin which we are discussing in another thread Ian
Noodleman
the latest release added manual association. release notes:https://www.noodleman.co.uk/related-products-1-0-4-release-notes.html The selector allows quick and easy association of manual products, however not sure what your definition of "bulk" is. huggettm
Hi Noodleman, thank you. by bulk i mean all products at once - ie by csv upload. we have over 4000 skus so manually adding to each one is not an option. does your plugin work by adding the related products to the existing product db field or a seperate table? Noodleman
my module does not have an interface to allow import of a file, however you could import data directly into the database table where manual related products are stored. The table is called "CubeCart_related_prods" and you simply need to add the product ID of the parent item, then the ID's of the related items. you can define an sort order as well. You can use an application such as Navicat to quickly import data into the DB from a file Edited November 7, 2017 by Noodleman
huggettm
thank you im trying that out now. 26360 related products just added by the db Do you have a commerical or bulk discount? I have 6 stores I want to add this to
Noodleman
I don't offer a formal tiered discount, but I am sure we can work something out over a PM or a support ticket.
huggettm
Ok cool, One thing I would say is it might be improved by having the add to basket link with each product? In the way they are displayed in category view?
Noodleman
this can be done if you wish.. entirely possible within your store theme to setup. the copy/paste code samples are considered to be a generic starting point which can be modified as required to suit your own requirements. huggettm
I have this working fine on one store, testing on a second newly installed version of cc6 with imported products and the store is impossibly slow with this enabled? Noodleman
there could be a requirement to add some indexes to the database tables the module uses which will boost performance. This shouldn't be impacted by cache and is likely a database level performance issue. If you are willing, I can look directly at the issue for you, review the SQL queries and tune the tables via indexes as required to check if performance improves. Alternatively, I can provide some SQL queries to run, and if you share the results with me I can recommend indexes to add on specific tables.
