havenswift-hosting
What plugins do you have installed / enabled - I see you have Related Products, so try disabling that and see if that solves the problem Ian
huggettm
disabled and that has sped it up thanks. Weird it did not cause that issue on my other store - perhaps because this is new and caching?
havenswift-hosting
You might want to check with @Noodleman as that is his plugin - it could be caching or index issues
bsmither
When compared to CC3/4, CC5/6 is ridiculously slow. My analysis (using the 'grind' family of tools) shows it is Smarty that consumes a lot of the time. Server-level caching utilities can drop that significantly. huggettm
Hi Brian, its not an issue on any of our other cc6 stores. on the new store the search function doesnt work either for product code or names - could be related?
havenswift-hosting
Smarty would not have caused that extent of slowness - it was stupidly slow. Disabling the related product plugin fixed the issue and proved it was something to do with that - probably missing indexes, especially if you have lots of products. The search not working can often be caused by a missing index on the inventory table so do a table by table comparison of the indexes
bsmither
"Stupidly slow." I've seen that. Fifteen+ seconds. Smarty adds two to four seconds, but not that.
huggettm
thank you for the advice, weirdly a working db has less indices than the one not working for the inventory table Working store slow store:
huggettm
editing those to make them the same made no difference

bsmither
Those aren't "product" thumnails. Those are sub-category thumbnails. CC6 provides for images to be assigned to Categories.
huggettm
Hi Brian, Yes, they are assigned, sorry what i meant was they are assigned the same images that are working on products
bsmither
There may be an issue with the database. I hear you say that you can verify that an assigned image will still be selected when returning to edit that category. So, the database should be structured correctly and hold valid data. That leaves the possibility that 'subcategory' images are not being created. In the folder /images/cache/, look for a filename that starts with the name of the master image of a category, and has a .105.jpg ending.
huggettm
there is nothing with that extension in the cache i added the category and image relations via the database, when i go to edit a category they do not show, but they are assigned values in the DB
bsmither
So, for a category record in CubeCart_category table, the 'cat_image' value could be an integer other than zero. Take note of an integer value, such as 36 for example. Then, in CubeCart_filemanager, find the record with file_id of the integer value noted earlier (36, for example). The 'filepath' column must be null or have the name of an actual folder. Does this record exist?
