aWolf Posted October 28, 2019 Share Posted October 28, 2019 Hello, I had to change hosts and now when I try to Clear Cache my site will just site there and eventually time out. I suppose it could be my new host, but can I just ftp into my site and manually delete the cache or will make more complications? havenswift-hosting Posted October 28, 2019 Share Posted October 28, 2019 You can certainly login using FTP and delete the cache files from the /cache directory but it sounds like you have a huge number of cache files so your FTP client may not even show them all and it will still be slow and a PITA to do that each time. The problem could be solved by using memcached for caching instead of the standard file cache (advantages are that it is much quicker and you dont have these issues) which we make available and configure for all our hosting clients but also it sounds like your new hosting has some tight restrictions on process time which is why it is timing out when deleting the cache files Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
