MarlineSim
I accidently deleted my website from my server. Could not restore it because of no server backup. I reinstalled Cubecart on the server. I looked on my server and saw that the old databases are still on the server. I'm wondering can I somehow rename the databases and the files work to be used on the freshly installed cube cart? bsmither
Rename the database? During setup, you can specify a unique table prefix. CubeCart will use the same database but create all new tables having that prefix.
MarlineSim
OK, I will try it. If I'm understanding correctly, I can use the same sql name, database_full_6.1.1... Thank you! Edited January 18 by MarlineSim
bsmither
database_full_6.1.1... appears to be the first few characters of a database backup file.
MarlineSim
Correct, so is there a way to make it work with the fresh install?
bsmither
A fresh, clean install, having created a fresh, clean set of database tables, you can then use an external database utility (such as your hosting control panel's phpMyAdmin) and have it run the backup file, which will populate the fresh, clean database tables. It should be easy to learn how to send phpMyAdmin the database backup file. The only difficulty would be if the backup file contains database table names with none, or a different, prefix than the set of tables you are populating.
