Guest kilobit
Hello, i am new to cubecart and i started with version 3. I have entered all my products in the database (over300). If i wanted to check out version of cubcart2 are the databases backwards compatable. Another words can i use cubecarts 3 database for cubecart 2? Reason im asking is at the moment cubecart 2 appears to have more options that i need. Thanks -Tommy
Guest
No, the 2 versions use totally different database structures. You would have to setup totally seperate stores.
Guest
No, the 2 versions use totally different database structures. You would have to setup totally seperate stores. Does that means that i'm going to manually insert in the database all the products that i have on my store?!
Al Brookbanks
Actually v3 was built from the v2 DB however it has had radical changes and is not compatibe. This was with the aim of an upgrade script.
Guest
So what you're saying is that we're out of luck for the moment, but there are plans to make such a thing happen in the near future? As has been echoed elsewhere, if I have to go through the trouble of setting up new software AND adding all of my products to a new database, it's a serious disincentive to upgrade.
