Guest teddy
Hello all, Ok. Here goes, I'm ready to unleash the "hounds of design" onto my new lil web site. LOL. I am still such a noob here, and am fiddling around with cc3. My store is under "construction" but I'd like some feedback / help / possibly offers for a template design for my site/theme. Here it is. http://www.hobbiesco.com Please PM me if you think you might be able to create some neat design in cc3. Thanks,
Guest
With regards to template/design I would suggest contacting Twisted he is the graphical guru in this forum. Your site Sort the logo area grey box area around search area maybe change grey to transparent And the latest products seem a little bit jumbled out of line. my 2c

jerseyjoe
Would you reconsider the height of the banner? IMHO a banner should be no more than 60px high, and less when possible. A banner appears on every screen and eye-fatigue develops in direct proportion to the size of the graphic. Also, a high banner wastes the most valuable real estate on a screen, the top 200px. In the case of your banner, it seems to me that all the elements in that graphic are repeated below as products and so that banner actually competes for attention with the things that should be the primary focus, your products. A more effective banner graphic would contain a single graphic element roughly 50px high in the form of a logo, against a uniform background color at 60px. After all, what is the purpose of the banner? Is it to show the range of products (something that the CC layout already does quite efficiently) or is ia banner a simple, small reminder, using an umcomplicated logo, of what web site the visitor is on? Here's one example of what I mean. (I'm on a long weekend away from my home so this is a site in process - and there are many hours to go with the rest of the layout, adding products, etc.). See http://wendycostsastudio.com. Hope that's helpful.

Guest inletmedia
Not sure the look you are going for, but all im seeing is a stock cubecart skin with a changed "logo" image. Your background for the "search box and login" is repeating itseld, which doesn't look very good. I would make the big "ON SALE" image in the dead center a link to the sale items ... Just a few things i thought i would throw out there ... Guest teddy
Do you know which file I have to change to fix the background on the search and login? Is it in stylesheets? Also, lets say I want to change the background image on my store to something else theme related, where, and what do I change to do that? Or changing other aspects for that matter? Guest teddy
Ah. I found it... the sessionbg image was the culprit. I simply removed it and gave myself the "white" background around the Search area.
