How to Remove modules from the Shopping Chart

I like the shopping cart but some of the modules are alittle to much for the shopping cart that I am building.

How would I be able to remove or de-activate parts of the shopping cart from appearing on the page, so I have more space to work with in the application

The modules that I don't need to see in the shopping cart are..

- Featured Product

- Information

- Mailing List

and - Popular Products

I already have these portions in my website and only want the customer to view a product from a category and purchase it.

Hi there,

modify skins/CURRENT_SKIN/styleTemplates/global/index.tpl and remove any unwanted boxes

Do thiese steps one by one and backup before doing so.
