  1. This annoys the heck out of people, and I can't blame them. They shop around decide to come back later and purchase, only to find the cart is empty (when a store carries many small items, this is obviously annoying to the customer to have to go back and add them again). This has been a nagging issue since I started using Cubecart, but I would assume only a small sessions tweak is needed to save the cart contents. Have I missed this somewhere? Searched to no avail. Thanks for any help!

  2. The last couple days PayPal Pro has been really bad: their AVS is wonky, payment notificaitons are showing up hours or days late, and several customers keep getting generic errors. Might just have to wait it out. I tried fixing, and made it worse.

  3. Seems to me like their browser was just holding that cookie. Express Checkout MUST be offered before any other steps of checkout, per PayPal's TOS. It's dumb, but it should work most of the time. What PayPal does is force an account under the email address they use for PayPal, therefore creating a new one.

  4. How can I put the store offline?

    Thanks

In Admin, go to General Settings. Down the page near the bottom is an option to turn the store offline, and you can put up a message to visitors. If you want them to be able to browse but not buy (this will tick off your customers, just so you know), then just disable the payment options and make sure to add a notice to your home page.

  5. Log into your Paypal account. From there, click "profile" and on the left side, you should see a link for API credentials. Request the signature, add that to the spot in Cubecart, and there you go. :(

  6. This is a rather urgent problem, has anyone founda fix for this? I've spent over 2 days taking apart various FCK files, and trying hopelessly in vain to find some magic fix. As I said in my 8765 other posts about this, deleted all the admin folders and re-uploaded, to no avail. Even tried to revert back to 4.23, and it got worse. Just upgraded the cart two weeks ago, and now cannot alter product images or add new products (need images & thumbs!) because of this. I did put a bug report in, but I figure perhaps someone out there has found a fix by now. ;)

  7. All product include ‘sale price’ – so how is it determined which one’s get displayed?

In General Settings, you'll find this:

    Show Latest Products on homepage?

Number of latest products to show:

    Directory Symbol:

    No Products per Page:

    Length of product precis:(Chars)

No. Items in Sale Items Box:

No. Items in Popular Items Box:

So, pick how many sale products you want after enabling them in Locale Settings. If 8 are on sale, choose them all. If you have 200 products marked down, obviously they won't all fit there. Same goes for the other options. As far as I know, you can't select which products show up in particular, but check through the Mod sites like Estelle's.

  8. Yes, most of us understand this.

The problem is that when a user is returned from paypal back to the site, it isn't clear that they have more to do. Many customers see a page that looks (to them) exactly like the page that sent them to paypal so they get confused and think that they are done.

A big notice at the top of the page that says "Please confirm your order below" or something like that would really help. I lost a LOT of sales because confused customers felt that the process was finished when they left paypal.

How can we add a big notice like this, so that it isn't so confusing? And, it IS confusing as many here will agree with.

Plus, a good portion of the time, customers are just returned to the home page, at which point, many of them just get annoyed and leave the store.

(for a notice at the top of the page, try editing your language file in "front end" then "content" then "View Basket/checkout" and pick one of the fields like to alter & add "Using PayPal, please click Make Payment after your return" or whatever. You can usually use html in those boxes if needed.

  9. In each product description there is "include in new products", "sale price", etc. You then set the main parameters for those under General Settings----sale prices can all be turned on or off, and new products can be limited or left off the main page entirely. Popular products is determined by your choice of sales or views, but the end result will be determined by customers on that.

  10. Is there any way around this: Customer comes to store, fills cart, registers, then uses Paypal. The paypal account is under a different email address (spouse's, business, etc), so a new account gets made in the store system with that email. Annoying as heck for the customer and us: they log in under the account they registered with, but there's no order. At least twice each day we have to tell someone about this. Confirmed/verified addresses are not required, and this happens no matter how I toy with the settings.

  11. It seems PayPalPro has been somewhat abandoned for CC. I see plenty of problems with the Altcheckout module, but rarely a solution. Half international customers can never complete checkout, as they are directed back to the main page of the site, no matter the browser, cookies, or how I have sessions set. This is very frustrating for them as well as us. I have reinstalled the WPP module/folder a couple times (newest release), and this problem happens constantly. Card payments work fine, but it's the transfer from PP that is an issue.

    ANY help is greatly appreciated.

  12. This may be a dumb question, but did you make sure to create the option, then the option values, then add the option to the product? I had a few oddities with my options on a couple products, but got them sorted in the end. You can always mess around with different things, shut the store with a message (in general admin settings), set "pay by cheque" payment method and create test orders to see if it works.
