I've been having this same problem, getting the same Error. I did run all the scripts, but I had to refresh my browser in order to run each new script (otherwise the previouse one was still there). This wasn't working for some reason, so I tried renaming each script as I uploaded it (upgrade1.php, upgrade2.php, etc.) and running them this way instead of refreshing. I'm not sure why this worked, but it did! Hooray!

When upgrading from v.10 to v. 15 do I need to change permissions on any files after uploading as I did with the new install?

I have read other posts that talk about a v. 17, but in the downloads I only see up to 15. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? Thanks.

Is there a way to change the whole look of Cube cart without any knowlege of HTML? If so, how do I do it?

PROBLEM SOLVED! After several more sessions of deleting and uploading files over the past few days to no avail, I finally decided to try using WSFTP instead (I was using WISE-FTP), and after one try, Viola! It works! Everything works! I still don't understand it, but who cares? It works! YEAAAAH! :w00t:

I am trying to build a shopping cart for my husband's online store using Cube Cart, and am having some trouble. My knowledge of HTML is limited at best, and this is my first time working with a database, so I'm sorry if I don't use the proper technical lingo. Anyway, here's my roblem. After uploading all the files and changing the required permissions, this the message I get when I try to access my store (http://www.battlemart.com/store)--->"MySQL Error Occured 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)" I created a database with MySQL (through 1and1) before uploading the files, but this is my first time using it, so I'm not sure if I did it right. Is there some kind of configuration I need to change or something? This is my 4th time trying to install Cube Cart. The first time it didn't work at all, so I deleted it and tried again. The 2nd time the administration part worked, but the actual store was just a blank page, so I deleted it and tried again. The 3rd time I got to the installation configuration part, but kept getting different errors, so I started completely from scratch (new database, new Cube Cart download, etc.), and then received the database error. I think I was receiving database errors in the 3rd try as well, but I didn't document them so I'm not sure about the nature of the messages. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
