Hi, I bought CC V4 with the Copyright removal key. I haven't used the key yet (unassigned) and I would like to change my Domain name. Will I run into problems with this key when I use it on a new domain name? My host will take care of the Domain change on their end. Is there any area's of Cubecart other than in general settings that I need to make the name change? Thanks for any help, 11th

Hi, I tried to do a upgrade (first time) from v4.2 to v4.3 and it didn't go well. I ended up doing a restore to my backup to v4.2. I think something went wrong while unzipping the files. Before I try to upload the new files again, I was curious if anyone had a list of folders and files that should be in my upload folder. If I knew the total size (bytes) I could compare to make sure I was uploading the all the needed files. Thanks for any help!

Never mind, Milos set me straight. FWIW to others, Homepage and Saleitems are NOT categories thats the reason you cannot see it. If you would like to remove Sale Items link just disable switch the Sale Mode to OFF in admn General Settings. Homepage link exists in categories.tpl file in your skin styleTemplates/boxes folder. If you use SLQ Cache feature don't forget to empty SQL cache once categories template file is changed. My misunderstanding of the hide and show categoies. Maybe link names do confuse you because they did not show status but action. If there is SHOW link, category current status is HIDDEN. If there is HIDE, category current status is is ENABLED

Hi, I have downloaded version 4.2.1 and started setting things up in the admin section. Under view categories, I only see some of them. The home category and sale items category that come with the skin don't show. I would like to delete them but they aren't there to edit. Another issue I have with this section is with the categories I do see. If I click show, they don't show and if I click hide then they do show. I can deal with this but, wouldn't mind fixing it if possible. Thanks for any suggestions! EH

Hi, I just read through the pinned post above and many other post on license keys and I'm still not clear. I just signed up for hosting and installed a free trial of CC4.2 and all went well so I plan to buy the software. I was a little nervous about messing things up so I thought if I could play with the skins on my computer then upload if they look OK. I did a ton of reading on how to do a local install. With the help of others and a long uphill battle with my brain I was able to get everything needed installed. Then I went to set up the http:localhost/Admin and I got a error #4 about the license key. What I'm wondering is if I purchase the software will I be able to use the same license key on my local drive? I guess with version 3 that wasn't a problem (being free) but with version 4 is there a legal way to do this? Thanks for any info, EH

Under documentation in the cubecartforums.org go to appendix and there is a write-up about a local install using easyPHP. I have been trying to use it on a thumb drive but can't quite get it to work. I'm a real beginner though so, you might have better luck. I get to the point where I click or enter the address they say in the browser and I get: Not Found The requested URL /cc/install/ was not found on this server. Any ideas!

I was afraid of that, I thought I did my research too, but didn't think of that. OK, this is all new to me so the $30. to have CC4 installed is looking good. Would any of you know what is needed from me (or my host) to have CC4 installed. Also, I just did some reading that CC4.2 requires PHP5.2 All my host offers at this time is PHP5. I guess I would be stuck with CC4.1 till the host upgrades. Is that correct? Thanks for the help guys, this forum is a great help. EH

Hi, I just signed up with a Host and went to install CubeCart using Fantastico but I don't see a way to pick what version. Is it normal for them to only offer one version? I would like CC4 and I hope I don't have to do it manually. I'm waiting to hear from them but, wanted to see what you all thought. Also when I do install it, do you recommend putting it in the root directory or in a folder on the database. Thanks for any help! EH

Hi, I just started gathering all info for puttig together my site. (product pictures, text, layout look, etc.) Do you think I should wait for version 4 before I have someone build my skin and add mods? Will there have to be new mods developed to replace the old version mods? Will version 4 be a easy upgrade from the latest one? A few months time would not be a big deal however, if there has to be a lot of bugs to be worked out and mods to be upgraded then I may want to get started now. What would you do? Thanks!

The Payment gateway we use in our brick and mortar store is though Paymentech. Doesn’t it make sense to use the same system on my site? Before I call the salesman I thought I would check and see if I could get some background. Do any of you know if CubeCart will work with this gateway? Could it be set up to work with the same account? Would it be any cheaper to be set up this way? Any suggestions! Thank You!!
