I'm getting an error during the install related to permissions. It doesn't seem to be the standard read/write/execute problem. Of course I'm a novice at this. Any help is appreciated!

includes/global.inc.php 2777 0777

What is that 2 and how do I make it a 0?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, I'm setting up my Cubecart - well trying too... I'm stuck with a message saying

The config file could not be written. - I don't seem to have the file - have you got a config.php file in your public_html folder - I was just trying to find out as if I havern't I may have to start again....

figured it out... not sure how... but I did, thanks!

Try and use an FTP program such as wsftp or whatever you like.

Connect to the site via ftp and right click on the folder

Go to properties and change the permisions (CHMOD) to whatever you wish.

Hope this helps ;)

Why don't you have the file. I gave it to you. Did you not upload it?

My FTP Client (FileZilla) can't change permissions to 0777. They are still 6777 and installation won't continue from step2. Why?

Filezilla CAN change permissions. I am using it all the time.

Your host won't allow perm change from ftp.

Ask them about it.
