Possible usability issue - no "Checkout" button

Okay, just wanting some opinions on this. Does anyone think that a occasional customer may have problems completing their purchase, because they can't find a Checkout button?

Because in v2, there was an Edit Basket link, and also a Go To Checkout link. But in v3 there's only a View Basket link. And after you view your basket, there is only a Continue button...... continue what... shopping?? And then similarly on the next page, there's a Register & Continue button.

Obviously regular online shoppers wouldn't have any problems, but how about the small number of customers that have very limited experience with buying online?

So... any opinions?

Estelle.

Estelle,

Have you tried editting the language file to make the continue and View Basket links, change to be more pointed, such as Continue to Checkout?

I considered renaming the "View Basket" link in my Shopping Cart box to something like "View Basket or Checkout"... but the text is too long and it wraps and looks crap :) and design & style are more important than usability... right? right? Heheh ;)

I'm mainly interested to know if anyone else thinks the existing text might be a slight usability issue (because i don't want to change it unless i need to).
