Guest artwork
I've search through the threads and haven't found what I'm looking for...I think itmight be too basic. Here is what I need: I currently use CC V3.04 and have my *Mail Sending Method* set to mail(). I currently get all my emails but the customer doesn't receive a email confirmation, I get the mail error email that I have to forward. I want to change the sending method to SMTP to see if this will fix it but I'm not sure what to input.?? SMTP Host: (Default: localhost)**** is this my mail.mymailserver.com? SMTP Port: (Default: 25)**** No idea what this is? Use Authentication? Yes No (Default: No) ****easy enough SMTP Username: ****My email username SMTP Password: ****My email password I sure this info is pretty basic stuff and I'm a super newbie for asking. Which should I use---my email info from my website mail.mywebsite.com or the email account from my ISP? My ISP will be more reliable I think? Thanks! Guest estelle
When you say the customer doesn't receive the confirmation email, are you sure that the status of their orders are being set to "Processing"?
Guest artwork
Yes..it is being set to 'processing'....the problem is the with the original placement of the order. The customer should receive a order confirmation email telling them what they ordered etc...this email is being forwared to me as a 'Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender' This is what it says: This message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed: [email protected] unrouteable mail domain "earthlink.net" ------ This is a copy of the message, including all the headers. ------ Return-path: <[email protected]> Received: from nobody by voda3.vodahost.com with local (Exim 4.52) id 1ETTBn-0002q3-1V for [email protected]; Sat, 22 Oct 2005 18:54:15 -0500 To: [email protected] Subject: Order No: 051022-185231-4431 MIME-Version: 1.0 From: Artwork For You <[email protected]> X-Mailer: CubeCart Mailer Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-ID: <[email protected]> Date: Sat, 22 Oct 2005 18:54:15 -0500 This happens with about 95% of the confirm emails and when I cut and paste into a new email & send it works...so I know the email addresses are good. Any Ideas? Thanks Estelle.... :rolly:
Guest estelle
I would try checking with your web hosting provider. It looks like PHP is correctly building the email, but the email server can't route the message?? Also, check with your web hosting provider if the following (default) settings are ok: SMTP Host: localhost SMTP Port:
