Guest Posted November 30, 2005 Share Posted November 30, 2005 I want to set up a server on my pc for local testing etc. I am running windows XP although i also have LINUX running on VMWare ( although im a beginner with this) What is the best software to do this? Guest toys4mobiles.com Posted November 30, 2005 Share Posted November 30, 2005 XAMPP is a good application. It installs an Apache server with MySQL and PHP (4 or 5) already installed. Also if you have Windows XP Professional you could try the built in server. You have to install IIS. But this route I wouldn't recommend for beginners!
