disco_ii_disco
Hi all, Having a bit of trouble getting Google to crawl my website (built with cubeCart v3): www.caravanaccessoryshop.co.uk. So far only the home page has been indexed: site:www.caravanaccessoryshop.co.uk I have uploaded a site map to the homepage but I don't think Google likes the dynamic pages or the page addresses. Has anybody out there had any success with the search engines? Please don't ask me to try the SEO mod unless anybody has actually had any success with it! Cheers, Chris
Guest aikdo
Hi there as i stated in the other forum i have had full sucess with the SEO mod, and it works well with the google sitemap, your current sitemap though a very handy tool is kind of lost in the fact it doesn't contain anything other than links and those links are still the dynamic PHP pages... Your domain will acctualy do you well with google and msn as they favor .co.uk domains... You need to work at having your link posted on diffrent sites... If you want to know what sort of success i have had with SEO then just check out http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Aww...=utf-8&oe=utf-8 and http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=...nG=Search&meta=
disco_ii_disco
Hi. Thanks for your replies. Considering there are 385 products listed on http://www.ernestgbrooks.co.uk/ Google has only managed to index 21 pages of the website so not a huge success but at least its better than what I have achieved. I guess I will give the SEO mod a go. Any comments on this from anyone else.
Guest aikdo
You will be VERY lucky if you want every page to be indexed by google, i have stoped google from accessing the tell-a-friend pages and have also given more ephasise to the catagories than each item as i would rather u user find a catagory listing many items over a product page listing a single item... The site has also only been going since the second half of last year and the majority of products where added comming up to christmas and so have only been there about 1-2 months... roban
You need a site map generator that filters out all the session stuff and other badies.. I have done site maps for my sites that do just this and all my pages are indexed. SEO is a full time occupation if you want your site to be successful. Spider crawls are a small part of it. Excellent page content and backlinks are very important as are keyword density and relevance.

Guest digilution
Just a quick one. I will use the SEO mod at a later stage as I need to fix a few probs 1st and would like to know with the Site news mod will they be crawled. Reason I ask is that I feel that if they will be crawled, it is a place to put so much information to improve page rank. If not, what can I do to get it crawled :)
Guest aikdo
They wont be crawled by default but if you use the Apache Rewrite option atleast a simple modification to some of the code can allow it to be crawled... Contact me if this is going to be the path you are willing to take...
