Guest donna61
Okay I have spent 30mins searching for a topic - very difficult with the topic titles people use - what does "Quick Question" and other useless titles do to help anyone in search? Anyway my question: FCK editor - how do I add a link so that it works as a link? I am on the latest version of Fireflox I changed it to "source" and added HTML tags, but that doesn't work. If I use the insert hyperlink, I get a popup which allows me search my computer - but how do I find a link from my computer? Do I have to go to my program files/Mozilla/Bookmarks or such? thanks! Guest aikdo
its should be as simple as Type the text you want to use as the link then highlight it click the link button (globe with a chain infrount) and it will popup a window that lets you enter the link in... there is a dropdown box that lets you chose between http:// https:// ect ect and then next to that is a text box where you can enter the link IE www.cubecart.com ... im not sure what is happening with your situation though.. the button bellow that reads Browse Server has never quite worked for me it just brings up a blank box but surely you dnt need to use that? Guest aikdo
if you type Click Here in the Fck editor then highlight it with your mouse before clicking the link button then it will turn that Click here text into the link, it seems you missed that first step in my instructions above... Guest
if you have trouble with cut and paste in fck editor use this Ctrl + c = copy Ctrl + v = paste

All make's sense now. thanks to both of you for your advice. Since the problem has been solved, I hope the moderators don't object to an off-topic question. I'm curious to know if anyone under 40 years old knows the origin of the expression, "The penny dropped" as slang for, "completed." It is almost certainly not known to American's of any age, unless they lived or served as soldiers in England up to the end of the 50s. In a similar manner, we in the US use expressions such as "dial the phone" and use the word "record" to describe a piece of music, long after evolving technology has left the words without application. OK, I'll explain it - as I understand it - and welcome correction or update. For some while was common in England, that living quarters were heated with a small natural gas appliance that required the insertion of a penny coin in a metering device built into the appliance. When the time ran out, the coin dropped with an audible clunk. The "penny dropped." No more heat. Am I right that with the passage of time, advances in technology - and of course inflation - that this expression survives its original meaning?
