Guest Bryen
HI i am new to cubcart and was going to try it to see if more user friendly then oscomerce. Mega city uses a fantastico cpanel with an automated installation. it allows you to select the domain you wish to install the cubecart and then asks for a directory path i have tried a full path ie http://www.domain.com/test / and also the /test/ as well as virtual path =/home/26thaas/public_html/test all get is The installation can not be completed: - No valid directory name provided. Click on the browser's Back button to fix reported errors. Install CubeCart (1/3) first part of installation Installation location Install on domain (these are the domaions i have hosted) 26thaas.boomsoundandlighting.com 26thaas.com boomsoundandlighting.com fcsports.com.au Install in directory <<< this bit is the problem Leave empty to install in the root directory of the domain (access example: http://domain/). Enter only the directory name to install in a directory (for http://domain/name/ enter name only). This directory SHOULD NOT exist, it will be automatically created! Admin access data Administrator-username (you need this to enter the protected admin area) Password (you need this to enter the protected admin area) Base configuration Admin e-mail (your email address) Admin full name My question is can i give this bit a miss and do a ftp upload and install and will it still work ok sorry about being long winded
jerseyjoe
The installation can not be completed: - No valid directory name provided. That's a clue worth attending. I suspect that the cPanel installation system does not like the word "test" for a directory. Try something many people use such as "store." Alternatively, you can download the program, use FTP to upload all the files that are in the folder "upload." (NOT the folder itself, just the files in it.) There is a read me file in the download. Also, click right now above you the word "Support" and then on the Tutorials. Good luck!
