Hi. I am having troubles with my SSL. I have read through a number of topics already and havnt found what I am looking for. Basically if i enable SSL and enter in my /secure/shop/ and the https:// URL, i can access my shop, login and logout, and it accesses my https url at appropriate times, it is jst that once i enable SSL i cannot view my admin.php file, not through the https URL or the normal URL.. i downloaded the editconf.php file and that is how i changed it back to no SSL, but without it, users login and view their basket and all that unsecurily. I am trying desperatly to find a way to have SSL and still have access to my admin section. Can anyone help

Cheers,

Mitch

what settings are you entering? Is this a dedicated or shared certificate? What is the URL of your store?

oh it was a shared certificate because my hosting doesnt allow SSL certificates for w.e reason. They jst sent me an email stating i shoul disable SSL in my admin section but keep the root SECURE directory and SECURE url there, and get users to access my whole shop from their https:// domain.

Sorry for wasting your time, i just recieved an email sayin i had a post reply, jst as they emailed me.. :( thanks again.

P.S i did hav a question on unlimited stock as well hehe wink wink, nudge nudge

Just my 2 cents:

If you have a host that won't allow you to have your own SSL then I would look at switching hosts. That seems plain crazy for your host not to allow your own SSL Cert.

There's nothing wrong with shared SSL, however, at the end of the day, they should specifically reflect your own domain name. Form what you're describing, this is not how it's supposed to work, I get the impression that you're being told to use your own domain name for your site, and a different one for the secure version. Seems to me that they're not really offering a shared SSL, but more that they're sharing their own SSL account.

Change your host would be my answer, there's loads out there, with some very competitive offers.

Have a look at cubecart.org for some hosting companies that work with CubeCart on a regular basis.
