Guest
Hi all Got a problem, closely related to the previous post. I have a website on a temporary server (www.server29.example.com/~username) and at the moment, that is what the pages show instead of a domain name. Now I have transferred the domain name, you go to www.example.com and it brings up the site. Click on any page and it goes straight back to the server29 configuration and remains so while navigating. I have tried changing the rootRel and storeURL to '/' and 'http://www.example.com', previously '/~username' and 'http://server29.example.com/~username'. But nothing happens other than the images go missing, the text gets larger and the admin side looses its images. I have no idea how to change the URLs so they maintain the www.example.com domain. The CC4 licence reflects the www.example.com domain, SSL is on, but its a shared certificate on server29.example.com/~username. Any ideas please please let me know regards to all Dev01
Ausy
Hi, your settings look correct. Is your site working correctly without SSL enabled? Have you got the correct settings for Shared SSL in admin general settings, can you show the setting? Make sure you clear the cache through admin rebuild and recount. Guest degsey69
Thats right if you keep the SSL settings the same it will go back, also have you changed the URL in global.inc.php? Degsey
Guest
Cheers to everyone ... Have worked round the problem now, you are all correct. However, I now have a dedicated SSL, which I have enabled and it appears to be working fine. I have also changed the URL root and absolute settings to reflect the domain name so that it appears over every page. However, now I have the problem that the shopping basket is not working. When you click 'buy' the shopping basket button blinks, but shows nothing, then when you click to view it, there is nothing in there. Anyone have any ideas? I don't think this relates to the recent post from Estelle about the AOL problem, I believe it's different. Thanks very much Regards Dev01
Guest
Just another bit of information: If I change the store 'rootRel' from '/~username/' to '/www.domain.com/' the basket starts working perfectly fine but the images and some styles disappear! Very strange! Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Regards Dev01 Just another bit of information: If I change the store 'rootRel' from '/~username/' to '/www.domain.com/' the basket starts working perfectly fine but the images and some styles disappear! Very strange! Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Regards Dev01 Erm ... OK ... changed the 'rootRel' back to '/~username/' and everything appears to be working fine again ... strange. Ausy
I think your setting is still wrong, if you have moved to your domain http://www.example.com and you have a dedicated SSL then the setting should be $glob['rootRel'] = '/'; Your admin setting should look like so. HTTP Root Relative Path: / HTTP Absolute URL: http://www.example.com HTTPS Absolute URL: / HTTPS Root Path: https://www.example.com
Guest
Still getting the problem. My settings are: HTTP Root Relative Path: / HTTP Absolute URL: http://www.example.com HTTPS Absolute URL: /www.example.com HTTPS Root Path: https://www.example.com So with these settings the basket does not work, you click on 'view basket' and it throws a Not Found error. If I change the HTTP Root Relative Path from '/' to 'www.example.com' - Everything works perfectly, but all the images disappear, the styles seem to go and in the back end, its all times new roman with very basic layout no styles. The WYSIWYGs all have errors have not found error. PLEASE HELP! Can't resolve! Thanks again
