Cart save automatically if not checkout

Hello,

I am using Cube cart version 4, i want to provide facility to customers to save cart automatically if some reason they not checkout in the cart then next time when they login, the cart automatically populate all the items which previously added in the cart but not checkout, i have checked the coding and see that all the cart contents is based on session_id and this session id create at run time and automatically destroyed when log out, can any one suggest me that how we can make cart on the customer_id instead of session id,
