Guest
Im having a problem with google indexing hundreds of thousands of https (secure webpages) Basically If i go into Google Webmaster Tools and click on 'links to your site' - it says that here are 250,000 internal links. All of these start with https:// and are product and category pages, , so Im not sure why https addresses are being created either. Im thinking this must be the url re-write engine.... I have a feeling this could be very bad for page rankings, plus server load, etc. I have the SEO-friendly-urls switched on and am also using a sitemap generator mod. Any suggestions welcome, Dan
KylieJ
Hi Dan I think others in this forum have discussed similar things so search here for htaccess and robots.txt. Also use a search engine entering key words: htaccess ssl and seo, there is a good guest post on seo book about this. Maybe read up on Disallow codes for your robots.txt file and any robots.txt tutorial will give you a good start... As an aside, later I ended up just using SSL for payment section which simplified things a bit but I had other non-related issues.. CubeCart helpdesk may offer you support if you lodge a ticket too (do not know when CC4 support ends) , though it is more a Google Webmaster thang so look there too Kylie
