Tried to find where "Faire du shopping par catégorie" was in the files was but was unable to find the phase to change it.It did appear in Languages section of Admin - Navigation - phrases Edit Phrases pressed the revert button and it went into English and unable to revert it back to french,
Tried Compress file to have a look at the file and not to just export it and Selected this to enable file compression I am using Google chrome it wiped out the website the only thing showing was the Favicon icon Had to go back into files and exported/deleted the compressed file and the website was back on line. Altered the German just to Nach Kategorie and without changing the css file line 156 and It works fine. You do get stuck in German someone in the forum was stuck in German. Work the software clear the cookies/catch etc and it begins to work fine.
While deleting the compressed files started to panic to get the website back on line reasons unknown I deleted the 2 french xml files as well.
I feel that Cubecart must bring out a book/leaflet with more tips and help.
There are not many other websites that have the translations on

The layout of the skins seems to have been sized appropriately for the English collection of phrases. Other languages may have shorter or longer translations.
The store owner has three options: adjust the current skin, rephrase the phrase, use a custom skin.
1. For that skin, in the file common.css line 156, adjust width from 200 to 250, but that causes the left column to encroach on the middle column. On line 167, you can change padding: 0 210px 0 260px !important but that causes the Recent Products to go to 2 per row. On line 32, you can change the width to 1050px.
2. Try to use something other than Faire du shopping par catégorie. I don't know French, but I'm sure that can be chopped shorter.
3. Good luck with a custom skin.

Not sure about altering css file just put in a translation tried to find out where <a href="http://www.perfumevaljc.com/index.php" title="Page d'accueil">Page d'accueil</a> was but unable to find it to change Page d'accuell to Homepage like it is in Dutch. The fun thing is the Spanish one seems to be the only one working well with the dutch same spelling johnC

There must be something in the code somewhere for Spanish to work but French and German not got it.

cc5 works very well The way it works but somethings do not work as well as expected but you can work around this. ie Pictures on on document pages can be awkward as it optimizes pictures for web speed and can degrade quality if you are not careful.
We have had lots of help from the cubecart people on the upgrade and for the real tech problems.
You will be well pleased with cc5 and if you except its limitations it a terrific piece of software. Strongly advise you to buy from new straight on to a new website and not upgrade form cc3 on your existing website if you have a good customer base on your existing one, because for us with out a customer base it has taken almost a month to get it working to how we want it and understand the way it works.
PS We love the way cc3 works and would use it for another shop if only we could put in a payment gateway It does not support the gate way we would like to use.

On the upgrade In the language folders I have the Italian folder But there is no "it.IT.xml" file or "email_it_IT.xml" are these files available yet or still being written.?
The Languages I would like would be Danish (NO Folder names in the Language Folder) and Italian. Is the Danish not available yet or still being worked on.
2nd question when using the Languages I do have. Dutch French Spanish German I and this happens with them all and in all skins.
Shop By Category (Menu)
"Home page" is over written by the new language name for Home. English (Home) with the new language on top it looks a mess. How to solve this would be helpful.
When you have Google asking to translate the page and you translate to English the Home tab looks perfect with just Home and the translation of Home on top.

WE upgraded to Cubecart 5 which is great.
WE had CubCart 4 and used HSBC which worked fine in CC4
Then switch over to Barclay card in CC4 although we had to Put in the Module in, and it worked fine
Just upgraded last Thursday 12th and up on the 13th tested Saturday payment module for 5 did not work . Tried many different things including new CPI with Barclay
Question Has anyone Got Barclaycard ePDQ to work with CubecCart 5 and if so would be pleased to know how it was done.

Would like to say it is that Barclaycard ePDQ is working fine now
​Its in the CPI Administration of Barclaycard that is the tricky bit
One phone call to a level 2 person in Barclays and within half an hour working Great So have to say that Paypal and Barclaycard ePDQ works fine in
Cubecart 5 and the return to shop page is a lot better than CC4

I must be missing something on the Card capture did a test and can not find any details of the customers card to use it in our banks virtual terminal.
"The credit card information can be viewed by viewing the customers order."
Can not find anything Do I need to put in a mod or something to use the card capture payment method ?

this is just a stock template with a logo - so nothing to shout about.
I actually prefer the V3 site to V4- and even the V3 site is pretty standard.
To compete, you really need to invest in a great design to provide a professional look.
If you have invested in a Merchant account, then it does show you're serious about trading online- so some investment in the right place will really help.
Ideally, find a designer who can create cubecart templates. The best place would be cubecartforums.org - as you can view previous feedback. There are some "off-the-shelf" designs, and these will be good if you are on a tight budget - but get them to create/integrate a logo.
If you check some of the other sites offered in this area, you'll see some great examples.
The good news is that CubeCart has a fairly clean separation of layout to php code, and are fairly easy to customise templates - so a new template could be added very easily.
I suggest you look at your competitors, and then at your current site. Even if you're lower priced, a bland design really won't inspire buyers, whereas a great design may allow you to increase prices!
I hope this helps - sorry I can't be too positive over what you currently have.

I agree with Jason, using a shipped skin makes a fairly boring site. It's not expensive to use an alternative design, even a free stock skin from the cubecartforums.org downloads beats using a shipped skin.

Hi your traffic rank is good you could use a different skin Its about creditability. You could try a web comparison site like shopzilla or shopping.com also try and promote your site with a market stale and promotion banners and also flyers which does not cost much. try and link up to other web sites. Also try pay as you click on Google but this can cost more than your sales. Its has ssl which is good but after looking at your site but not sure what you pay with on main page, I see only google checkout after the purchace. hope this may help a little johnc valjc limited

Hi, I am not sure if something changed today with pay pal but all of my clients are reporting that their customers are being directed to the failed payment page after paying with pay pal. It just started to day and is affecting all of my clients using version 3 and pay pal standard or ipn. All of the payments have been succesful through pay pal but are not processing and the customers are directed to the failed payment page.I noticed that something happended with the Pro and Express today and was wondering if it could be related. Does anyone have a clue as to how to fix it or what needs to change in the Pay Pal module to correct this???

The best way is just to over write the excisting favicon.ico that is on the server. You are probaly seeing cached images when you refresh, look at it in firefox that browser generaly refreshes fast and the new favicon.ico will show nearly straight away, internet explorer is a pain in the butt and shows the favicon.ico when it feels like it.

Just spent 2 houra looking at every file in cube cart to try and find it after cookies removed it shows for a second this site was no problem http://www.valjc.co.uk/perfumeforyou.html the icon worked fine even changing the
<link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" href="/favicon.ico"> favicon(15).ico which works fine in all other 11 sites the only difference on this site is that cubecart in in the root dir, and its a php script after cookies are present the icon is not seen but you get a blank page showing then a white blear. Just do not know what to do next changed the colour but changed it back but also changed the font to garmond and times roman but the icon do not know

been to the web site http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/ and tried to put in a logo in the browser's location bar and bookmark menu but unable to get it to work ?
Put this icon in to 17 other web sites with no problem got it to appear then it dissapears got to be a over write somewhere but unable to find it in skins globle or any file. tried cubecart help but Milos Homola says I am sorry but we don't provide any assistance with code customization. Please look over at http://cubecartforums.org. If any one can help would be pleased.
When you go to the web site it appears then dissapears press refreash you get about 2 seconds of it before its overwritten by something ese in the script that may be its default cubecart logo.

all things working fine but need to use ssl to log to admin. when I check the "Use secure login:" web site goes into https:// and proceed to enter Username: and Password: (this work fine in http:) after trying to enter admin in ssl report comes up "Server not found can't find the server at perfumevaljc.comadmin.php."
any one have any ideas or help

This is our new site using Mican We looked at Vanilla still working on the colour and font may have a go at kurouto later which would need a little more tweaking. Nota looks for a good website but not sure how to tackle crosshatch.
