  1. I find that there is not one program necessary to do all things. For general editing I use Paint Shop Pro but don't need its functionality all the time so I use LView Pro to do lesser tasks like making GIF backgrounds transparent. For really simple tasks like batch converting and simple viewing I use Irfan View. It's very good, quick and best of all it's free.

  2. I like the red/grey combo alot. You might consider either losing the favorites tabs and replacing them with just text or re doing them to compliment the theme.

  3. Lose the popup when you enter. I would check spelling and capitalization such as "march OF....." If you're not careful about things like grammar and spelling people won't trust you to be careful about other things as well.

  4. I don't mind title pages so if you're going to have one format it so there is no scrolling required. You could do that easily by reducing the text size and removing the spaces.

  5. I'm not having error problems just having a problem finding something to buy. I guess you don't deliver to New York. I like the layout alot. One thing you might look at: Your spelling of "Grant Opening....." Shouldn't that be " Grand Opening...."?

  6. My site had a PR5 until recently when Google change their algorithm. Although my PR went from 5 to 0 my SERPS are stll good. Google PR is not the only consideration when it comes to which cart to use and Google is not the only SE in the universe. You should look at MSN and Yahoo as well as AltaVista and HotBot. As noted above it can take 6 to 8 months for a site to be fully indexed. I suggest you learn more about SEO before approaching a client.

PR is not Google's announcement to the world about the worthiness of a web site. With proper SEO, keyword relevancy, content and backlinks you could get a great PR from a Marvel comic book given time.

Here is an interesting Google-ism and an indication of just how srewed up Google is. Here is a link for you: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=everyfreegift

This will give you plenty of hits...on a website that doesn't even exist.

Actually wisdom has it that as far as Google is concerned:

-Google appears to be utilizing their toolbar to influence the rankings through cookies, bookmarks, history, cache, and temp files.

-The age of a document is an important factor. Google sandboxes brand new sites, reducing their positioning greatly.

-Frequent updates are important to maintaining a high ranking. This is why blogs rank so high in SERP’s

-Must be attractive to a user to click through and stay.

-The domain should be on a reputable server with a respectable name

-Steady growth of the site and maintaining the rate of expansion

-Obtaining quality, stable inbound links from high ranking websites. Never use a link farm

-Google’s huge datacenters track and analyze traffic, changes, and history of pages.
