Affiliates question

Does anyone have any opinions or experience about hte 3 affiilate schemes included?

Would/could one join all 3 ?

How does it actually integrate with CubeCart3.

The admin just seems to log you in to their remote site.

Does CubeCart pass any necessary data to them (or vice vera) and does that affect anything like your privacy policy?

How do your customers get their affiliates code ? From you or the affiliate partner?

Or have I got this the wrong way round and you are just a single the affilate for them.....

These schemes infer they pay me for sending them business.

What I want is a scheme for my own customers to send ME business (and I pay them commission)! Why would you want anything else integrated in an eStore?

AFAIR Sculptex did a system like this.

Are all 3 of these sending business away from my cart ?

Or is there some mode where it comes back my way....

I'm obviously missing something basic here ;-)

OK it's obvious that clixbank goes both ways, but you have to pay £55 (bronze) up front in commission.

But is the advertiser model the way round that cubecart has integrated, or does it display someone elses banners in my cart (publishers model) ?

Hi midigod,

2 of the three affiliate programs you sign up as a merchant not a affiliate. (ClixGalore and TradeDoubler)

You can run your own affiliate program by Buying the software off:

iDevAffiliate and link it into CubeCart in the Admin section after setting it up.

iDevAffiliate - Product Page

Big thanks Magyver.

So it's the iDev Affiliate version4 for $99 is it?

The link in to cubecart 3 is confusing as it implies it will use a web url and not an extra local software module.

Do you ue this and/or affilate schems yourself?

How well do you find they work for you?

Yep thats the one.

I stumbled onto it the other day. Just about to buy it to try out.

I have been looking for a way to run my own affiliate program for months.

Most other systems use a third party, which costs money, but the upside is that they promote you through all thier other affiliates, the down side is you get lost in all the other merchants of wich a lot are your competitors. (Just like advertising.)

Why I want to run my own system is to give my customers some kick backs for promoting my sites or products. Word of mouth has always worked for me.

If it works well I have some clients that might buy it. Then I can make some money off them as well. (win, win)

Spot on !

Let us know how you get on.

BTW the affiliate mod by ???? is being tested for porting from V2 to V3.

It's GNU I believe.

I'm still confused as to what/how cubecart 3 "integrates" with these 3 affilate providers, but maybe you'll let us know....

I don't really want to promote a load of sex shops, gambling or my competitors, which seemed largely what they had to offer publishers.

The clixbank looked OK, but £59 up front - I am tight ;-

Hi,

The iDevAffiliate software seems to be quite good. What I was worried about was I have a client that has 4 sites with 4 unique products that he wanted to setup an affiliate system for, would we have to buy 4 licences for this software and install it 4 times.

The answer is yes if you install it 4 times, once per site. But they give you a legal work around. You can intall the software in 1 location and link multiple sites into it.

This has 1 major plus, if someone joins as an affiliate from 1 site they suddenly find that they have an additional 3 products, that they did not know about, that they can promote and make money on as well.

Could be enough to get them excited.

Takes a bit of figuring but I just trusted that the Software Company new what they were doing and just blindly set it up. And guess what? It works!!! I will have to spend a bit of time in thier forum to get a better understanding of the product.

As to your question as to how the affiliate system works. It works off stings of code and they count the code hits. (Rough definition)

Here is a sample that I use for a great antiSpyware Software:

<A href="http://www.myaffiliateprogram.com/u/hatespam/b.asp?id=2512&img=counterspy.jpg&p=product.cfm?id=410">

<img src="http://www.myaffiliateprogram.com/u/hatespam/showban.asp?id=2512&img=counterspy.jpg" border=0></a>

They actualy mucked this one up. I fixed it and then uploaded it to my site.

They can tell how many times the image has been viewed, when you click on the link and even if you buy a product.

Pretty smart eh?

Thanks magyver

that helps a lot.

But it doesn't integrate with cubecart at alll then though, other than you have to add the smart links manually?

Or does their software and CubeCart talk to each other - I'm guessing not though.

So the page in CubeCart which links to their site is for being someone elses affiliate then and just seeing your earnings?

Anyway it looks like that's the way I should go.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

At least I know roughly what to expect now.

Thanks again.

CubeCart must talk to the software other wise it wouldnt know if a sale accured.

I was expecting a link or something to appear on the CubeCart front page when I set it up.

Perhaps "brooky" may be able to give some insite as to what is suppose to happen?????????

I am using the Legend Skin, so at the moment I just created a new site doc and called it "Affiliate Program" then gave a description and link to the Affiliate Index page so people can find it and sign up.

I only know a little from an affiliates point of view. As I am an Affiliate with some software through "clixGalore".

I know enough that from a merchants point of view, that I didnt want to go that way.
