Blocking pictures

I was wondering if there was a way to stop people copying pics off my site.

A smalll piece of coding or something?

I had the same thought, but look at this link:

it was a thread that I started and ended up going with the watermark thory instead.

There is some code you can insert that will disable right click in ie and netscape i posted in here a couple of days ago (try search for right click)

This is not a proper solution as it does not work in firefox and you can get round it if you know what ur doing - but will prevent most peeps

CubeCart is far from my biggest or most widely used site. I run an international car club with 2 million+ page views a month. As such, off-site linking or hot linking can be a huge deal for me (we allow members to host files).

So what I've come up with is a PHP script that works through mod-rewrite on Apache to check the HTTP_REFERRER as well as attributes of the file and the user's account to determine whether to serve as-is, watermark or block completely with an No Hot Linking message.

While it won't prevent people from taking your images and using them elsewhere, it can and will prevent them from just linking to your images and "stealing" your bandwidth.

Thank you for all your help. I have looked at the other thread. Probably wont do anything, but the watermark may be a possibility.
