Guest Jazz686
At step 4 I get the message: The config file could not be written. I am in Canada and wondering if this is why I can't install CubeCart. I am also using a windows operating system. CubeCart Installation v3.0.2 The config file could not be written. Step 4 out of 5 1 2 3 4 5 Step 4 - Set Back File Permissions Please make sure the following file permissions are set back correctly: File / Folder Current Permission Required Permission includes/global.inc.php n/a n/a Please ensure the file permission are set correctly to continue. Guest toys4mobiles.com
What I had to do is let the IIS account have access to write this file. If you locate the file, normally at a location like below: C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\your_store\includes\global.inc.php Right click the mouse on this file, and select the properties for this file. Select the Security tab. ---------------- If the security tab isn't showing: Open Folder Options in Control Panel. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Folder Options. On the View tab, under Advanced settings, clear 'Use simple file sharing' ---------------- You need to add the user: computer name\IUSR_computer name And then click the Allow 'Write' option. Once cubecart is installed you can uncheck this option so that only 'read' and 'read&execute' are checked. This should sort out your problem. Guest Jazz686
Hi there, I am not able to add a new user in the Security Tab. Do you know why not?
Guest AmeFa
the files that you had to originally set to 777 permission status need to be set back to 644..otherwise installation will not work.

Guest toys4mobiles.com
Hello Jaz686, You stated you cannot add a user under the security tab? Have you got administrator priviliges on your computer (ie can you install/uninstall normal programs etc). If so, what I did to 'find' the correctly names user to add was the following: click on the security tab on the file/folders properties. click Add click Advanced click Find Now Now I list of all the different users are shown. Select the one which starts IUSR_ ie IUSR_computer name You can now set the permissions/security for this file/folder
Guest
I also did a windows installation and got a similar error at step 4. (ver 3.0.5) It looked like the installation was complete but cubecart was unable to change the permissions for that file.(This could be a security issue becuase the file containas all your log-in details. So after fixing it, it's a good idea to manually restrict access to this file) Since the installion seemed to be complete, what I did was to simply delete the "install" folder in the cart directory. It seemed to work properly after that (With about 10mins of not so intensive testing)

Guest
Hello! I have the same problem and it is not a matter of changing permissions, since I manage to change the permissions. the thing is that keeps giving me error. I set it to 0644, yet it doesn't let advance. What can I do? I can not get to steo 5. And deleting install folder does not solve the problem, as suggested before.
