Ive inventoried my store and have submitted sales ads to several local newspapers which will print on the 29th. Due to the shipping price updating issue I upgraded from version 3.0.0 to the new 3.0.3 I followed all instructions for the upgrade , uploaded all the files and ran each of the scripts as instructed. My admin stilll show im running 3.0.0 and the shipping still doesnt update and when you continue to step 4 it automatically empties the shopping cart. I have tested this several times from 3 different computers each at different locations. I like the look and ease of cube cart and dont want have to search out a different cart.. Any input, idea's or help is greatly appreciated.. roban Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 My advice to you. Go back to version 3.02 and do not install shipping mods. My two 3.02 carts work just fine. When a new version comes out of any software the wise wait and see what happens instead of rushing ahead with an upgrade, especially if the predecessor did not function properly. Cube Cart works with a little tweaking here and there and most of the problems I have seen on this board stem from the fact that people are willing to change code without considering the consequences. Not that this was your problem, but when money is on the line it pays to be cautious. The most stable version of Cube Cart is 2.07. Do you know if the same database backup of products will restore properly to 2.07? I'd appreciate any help you can give as I'm also under a deadline with orders coming in on a store I setup and the shipping is being overlooked by PayPal even still in 3.03. Guest tbladecki Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 Lorissia, Ver 2 & 3 are totally different in structure and coding, I can only assume that the DB is different as well. Maybe I am wrong but i would not count on being able to go to ver 2.X without major DB work. I woudl go with the advise of Roban and revert back to the old verison that you were using and go with that. PS I hope that you have a BU of it. That would truely suck lmao. I have not tampered with any of the php mainly because I dont know crap about php other some real basic and I mean super basic .. If it is paypal, you could enable to payment gateway, turn off all shipping meathods, and let paypal do the ship by value for calculating the shipping. I use paypal for the payment gateway. Even if I could get the add the shipping issue fixed There is still the issue that once you click continue and you come to payment option of either pay through postal mail or paypal gateway it clears the shopping cart and say you have no products... give it a whirl you would see what im talking about.. just choose the pay by mail option so that your not charged anything.. use a name like testing or something so I know its not a real customer...... www.heathersbargains.com/tools Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest tbladecki Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 did you try the fix from Sir Willams regarding the Paypal auto return?? is its suppose to correct the issue that when paypal returns the buyer back to the store the confirmation says that the order failed.... As for the rest????? I am not sure what to do there, I wish I could help more but I am only a novice with PHP and MySQL, so I am not sure that I would be able to do anything for you.
