3.0.4-Admin cannot login

Hi again all,

Well this time I am a new server with the new 3.0.4

The install went great,I can see the store but cannot login to the admin...

No errors coming up..I got the password re-sent so that is 100% OK...

I get this mesage from CubeCart:

"No administration session was found."

But this seems to be there anyway on all my installs...

The only other info I can think of is the path that I get sent to once I click Login:

http://www.xxx.com/admin/login.php?goto=/admin/index.php?

I guess this is normal?

;);)

Thanks again!

Another clue..

If I enter the wrong password it tells me so...in red at the top of the page..

If I enter the correct password it just refreshes but sits at the login page...

Hi Timecrisis,

If I'm understanding you right. You installed CC and activated it by going through the 5 steps. Did you then delete the install file within your directory? You'll need to do that after you completely install before you try going further.

If I mistook what your're saying, can you restate the question?

Hi Timecrisis,

The link here is for a tool in downloads.

Configure Tool

What it does: Helps to fix your settings if you've messed something up and can't get in basically.

How to use it: Dowload it. It's just one file; then upload it to your main direcory area where your cart is. Click on the link if you've got cPanel or type in the url. It will come right up. Now, there are 2 columns and a drop down menu. review info and if not correct, make changes to the right then click configure button on bottom. It resets your settings so you can get back in. MAKE SURE YOU DELETE THE FILE RIGHT AWAY AFTER YOU USE IT FOR SECURITY REASONS.

Also, another good place to check for error is the same directory as your cart. Hopefully you have an error log there. If you do, it gives a pretty good description.

Hi Sunshine,

Well it kind of fixed itself...I think I have PC/browser/firewall issues....

So I think it was down to one of those!

I hate problems that fix themselves!...wheres the hours of staring at the screen fun in that?!

Thanks anyway!

:o

Hi Rukiman,

nope it isn't cookies...I have CC running on other servers with no probs..

I have also tested with my firewall down and IE set to accept all cookies.

I have a feeling it is related to the TMP folder...sessions..

But I need confirmation from someone who knows about the wroking of these types of things?...maybe my hunch is wrong...?

Have you checked your tmp area is not full?

If its a shared server, with a hosting company, ask them to check and take the necessary action.

Hi Everthingweb,

OK heres the weird thing, I just checked the site again to copy and paste the error and it has gone?!..and I can also login to my Admin on my other install...

I think the error is host related...Can anyone tell me if the Admin login and the errors about the TMP folder can be caused by the same thing?

Thanks again

The /tmp directory is used to store session data on the web server.

You need to question the competence of the Hosting company, and ask why their tmp directory keeps filling up (and no doubt requires a manual kcik to rectify it!)

Would this be the cause of my errors on the store and also not being able to login?

They both seem to be occuring at the same time....Is the coding using the TMP folder in both cases?

I have about 2GB of data transfer a month on this particular site which is under my WHM, running on linux with Cpanel.

The 2 seperate errors are actually on different domains but the same server.

Would the TMP folder be shared between these 2 domains?

I just need to pin it down so I can make sure my host sorts it out...they are very cheap but need a kick in the ass/arse every so often...

Much Thanks! ;)

My thoughts are the same as EverythingWeb.

Either your hostserver is extremely busy, you have no temp folder, temp folder not in same direcotry, temp permission not set to properly. Check those things and possibly where the session fires up - I think ini.php and switch.php as you could be missing a closing bracket or something.

Timecrisis,

I'm not sure if you want to go this route but there is always the option of going to Hack/Mods and posting there. You can hire someone to install it for completely. i belive goobers store has that option to buy for $20. ;) Good Luck

Hi Sunshine,

The permissions of the TMP folder are 700

It is not in my install folder but up ../../TMP - Is there an issue with this?

I don't want to hire someone as I think the issue is with the hosting and not with my installing skills ;)

Thanks again!

Hi Sunshine,

OK I will give it a go...my TMP folder is in the root above the WWW folder..

I don't think it is a path or CHmod issue tho as it sems to come and go...

I need to change hosts really...they are rubbish ;)

Timecrisis,

As long as you've tried those things and know those settings are correct. This doesn't apply to all web hosts but in general; the idea is if you get these great rates, chances are, on that particular server they'll be say 80people running traffic opposed to paying a higher rate and the server only allotting an average of 50people running traffic before adding a another server.

Hi All,

This problem is back again but on a totally un-related server.

It seems to come and go...

I am just suprised no one else is getting this error?

Can someone confirm that this would definatly be caused by the servers TMP folder?

I am running 3.0.5 now...

I reposed this here as I could not find this post:
