Guest mig6 Posted October 13, 2005 Share Posted October 13, 2005 Hi guys As you know im a kind of new using cubecart....... so im afraid of doing some wrong things when upgrading my cart to the latest version (3.0.4 -- 3.0.5) Can any body Post any manual to do this?? ive readed the .txt files on the upgrade folder on V3.0.5 but i dont understand if i overwrite all of the folders an files are am gona loose all the work that ive done on the cart?? Guest Posted October 16, 2005 Share Posted October 16, 2005 Usually any modification work to Cube Cart done outside of the skins folder, is lost when you upgrade from one version to another. I find that one way to approach it is to keep a note of all modifications you have made. That way if you have to redo any modifications, you can refer to your notes. This way using a program like WinMerge, you can compare any of the files you have changed with the upgrade version, and then edit as necesary. The easiest way would be to keep detailled notes of any modifications, do the upgrade, and then redo the modifications. (Not much cop if you have a heavily modded Cube Cart.) This is pretty much how I do things. I'm sure if anyone else has an easier way of doing things they will profer they're take on the stuation.
