Technical assistance required

Recommended Posts

We have already made some superficial changes to cubecart but are realising that we need help to take it further. We have searched through the forums to help us but to no avail. If anyone can describe the methodology required so that we can learn and take it from there fine, we are happy to pay for assistance, so hope to hear from you. Below are the types of mods that we are looking for.

Dook.

Login to require an Account Number previously issued to customer rather than an email address to logon. Still need to retain the email address for communication, not to allow registration that is a server side operation.

Force login as soon as the client puts an item into the shopping cart.

Search

Place search in a box on the left hand side. Introduce a dropdown box to allow selection of an individual category or all categories to refine the search. Place below the search box.

Shopping cart

Place at the top of the left column so that displayed all the time.

Provide facility to add items to the shopping cart manually using our ‘Product Codes’

Provide a summary of ‘Discount codes and combinations’ prior to submitting order. Summaries are Quantities of items sold in codes as below.

Disc Code Quantity Rqd Discount %

A 50 35

B 50 40

C 50 33

D

A+B 100 40

It is only required that we count the number of items ordered no other calculation is required.

Provide a print of the order for client.

It would be necessary to shown whether or not stock can be supplied or not, this information will need to be drawn from an external database via odbc.

General

Add tabs to the top of the page for selecting About Us, Contact us, Account Details etc. They will need to be individually protected so that we can restrict access to some or all of them if not logged on.

Documents

Provide options to display further documents.

Account Details

In addition to the basic details on the current screen that will need to be modified, it will be necessary to be able to view both current and previous invoices and orders. The detail will be in an external database and will be accessible through an odbc driver.

ODBC

We have tried to create a class similar to db, to enable access to external database using ODBC, however we have been unable to make it work. Can anyone assist.
