Guest
I am trying to set up shipping for a coffee site. Ideally, I want to set cube cart up to do the following: Products come in 500g increments (500g, 1KG, 1.5KG, 2KG etc) users can combine shipments (500g of prod1 + 500g of prod2 = 1KG of shipped coffee) All products within the coffee category have the same shipment costs (by weight) So, final shipment price would be determined by total weight Can some give me a rough description of how I would achieve this? I must be missing something because it does not seem obvious. Lastly, How can I set up a minimum purchase amt? (products come in 500g bags but 1KG is the minimum order (1 seperate products of 500g is valid but you can not order 1 bag by itself) Cheers, Ding
Guest estelle
You want to ship by weight? Have you looked at the Shipping By Weight module? You will need to setup the weights of all your products correctly, and then you setup the shipping price for each weight range in the Shipping By Weight configuration. CubeCart 3 does not support minimum purchase requirements as of yet. Estelle.
Guest
I see the shipping by weight admin module, but am not sure what to enter for values. The store will only ship to one country so I assume I do it all in the zone 1 section. I assume the "Zone 1 Handling Fee" is an optional handling fee that applies to all orders no matter the weight? Assuming the most simple scenerio: 1. ALL products are available in the same weight gradiations: 500g 1 kg 1.5 kg 2 kg 2.5 kg 3 kg etc 2. the price for shipping is 100% based on weight 500g - 2$ 1 kg - 4$ 1.5 kg - 6$ 2 kg - 8$ 2.5 kg - 10$ 3 kg - 12$ etc I assume the "Zone 1 Shiping 1st Class Rates: (Comma Separated)" section is what I need to configure? so maybe you would enter 2,4,6,8,10,12 ? Guest estelle
You've pretty much assumed everything correctly But with the rates, you have to enter them in a particular format - this is explained towards the bottom of the By Weight admin. Like this: 0.5:2,1.0:4,1.5:6,2.0:8,2.5:10,3.0:
Guest
OK, I actaully did that as you were posting I think... What I tried is 0.5:2,1:4,1.5:6,2:8,2.5:10,3:12 the weight of each product is 0.5 and the units are set to KG therefore if they added 3 of a product, they would get 1.5KG, so I assume the shipping should be 6 unfortunately, the cart still adds zero :w00t:

Guest
site to try is http://www.roastyourowncoffee.co.nz/index.php (the main url has a index.html until it is live so you have to type index.php manually) test user is "test" pass is "password" the country is configured as New Zealand and there are NO zones (no states in new zealand) shipping weight is set to: 0.5:2,1:4,1.5:6,2:8,2.5:10,3:
