Weight for product option

I have the same product that comes in various sizes.

I'm using the product options to specify a higher price for a larger product size.

ie: a drop down shows on the order page so the they can choose 1lb, 2lbs, 3lbs, etc. with the higher price for each one.

The problem I have is, I don't see anywhere you can specify the weight of the larger size without listing it as a seperate product (which I'd rather not do)

Is there anyway I can associate a weight with each (option) size product.

I'm using UPS for shipping to have it calculate shipping costs automatically, but right now it will just use the default weight of the primary product option.

I think you are stuck with different products. This is similar to the issue of how to track stock levels for sizes, colors etc without separate products (which we did - really the lowest category is the product and the products are the options in our case.
