Guest joezeppy
Hi, I'm on a Plesk Server. I uploaded the store files into the httpsdocs folder. I was able to use the automatic install method and I have my database and user all set up. That seemed to go smoothly. I also deleted the Install folder after installation. But when I tried to log into the admin, I got the following messages... *********************************************** Warning: main(../includes/ini.inc.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/index.php on line 30 Warning: main(../includes/ini.inc.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/index.php on line 30 Warning: main(): Failed opening '../includes/ini.inc.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:') in /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/index.php on line 30 Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/index.php:30) in /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/includes/auth.inc.php on line 38 Warning: session_start(): Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/index.php:30) in /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/includes/auth.inc.php on line 38 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/index.php:30) in /home/httpd/vhosts/photosculpts.com/httpsdocs/store/admin/includes/auth.inc.php on line 42 *********************************************** Plesk has a somewhat different file structure than the common cpanel that most are discussing here. It looks something like this... cgi-bin httpdocs --i3 --picture_library httpsdocs --i3 --picture_library (the http*s*docs is apparently for when you need to call a secure page which certainly would apply in a store. These are some of my specific questions. 1. Where can I find clear instructions on how a Plesk installation would go? 2. Has anyone here installed a cubecart store on a Plesk server? 3. Do the "store" files go into the httpdoc or httpsdoc folder? I did see a thread talking about some kind of virtual pointers?? or some device designed to point httpsdocs to the httpdoc folder or something. It was much over my head. Any help is appreciated. :(
Guest joezeppy
Can this be done? Is anyone here using Plesk with CubeCart? Actually I want to buy a full license but I thought I'd test the waters a bit using the sponsored version. Is anyone in these forums? I thought I'd get some kind of feedback. There has to be someone here that's worked with Plesk before. I'm just a little confused about how to deal with the two directories. Any thoughts appreciated. Guest vrakas
There is a lot of people in here I have never worked with this before but i am sure someone will reply that has done this */*
Guest joezeppy
Thanks Vrakas for the encouragement. That's what I'm hoping. Still looking for someone to help. It's always nice when there is a good community around a new product. Any help from someone that's used Cubecart on Plesk will be really appreciated. Guest saz
Hi joezeppy, Yes, I've got a shop running on Plesk. I've uploaded a test store (versoin 3.0.3) to httpdocs folder and it works fine! Sally.
Guest joezeppy
Hi Sally, Maybe I'm overcomplicating things. Do you have an SSL Certificate running on it?
Guest saz
Hi joezeppy, The way I've done it is by installing the cart in the normal httpdocs folder. I don't have a SSL certificate and my account is not set up for SSL. I'm sorry, but I can't offer any help about SSL as I haven't set this up. What happens when you upload your cart to the httpdocs folder - do you get the same errors? Sally.
Guest joezeppy
Hi Sally, Thanks for your feedback. I've also received a private message from another person who is challenged similarly to me. I wrote to cubecart and they have told me to do just what you've done; to install it in the httpdocs directory. I must have an SSL Certificate as I believe lots of sales are lost without one today. I"ve also been having some trouble with that (not because I don't know how to install it, but I may end up having to use a Thawte instead of Comodo). Where I'm at right now is here... The store is in my httpdocs directory and seems to be administratable. I've been able to go in and change settings. Right now I actually have the store in both httpdocs and httpsdocs, but I think that is not right and that I may have to take it out of the httpsdocs folder. But it still is administratable (is that a word?). I will continue to document my experience here since it seems that no one else is. I'm planning to order and install the new cert today. I keep getting security alerts (not due to cubecart of course). Maybe when I'm done I'll put up a full message about this type of install. Thanks, Still would appreciate any input from people who have done this and are running real stores using cubecart on a plesk machine. tia

Guest alexisb
Hello, I'm running CubeCart under Plesk but I'm still not using SSL, however, I've installed other PHP applications (for example http://www.awbs.com that do use SSL. What I did was simple, I created a symlink from httpsdocs to httpdocs, so everything in httpdocs can be accessed using "http" or "https://". You must first delete the original httpsdocs (if you have something you should backup before) and then use "ln -s" to symlink and make sure you are using the needed permissions. You should ask your web hosting account administrator to do this, it requires a little of Linux experience and possible root access but it's not that hard. Regards! Guest alexisb
Hi, that message may be because you are not including the correct user and/or password in your config file, verify the data. Remember to use the same case (uppercase or lower case) as you used for your database user and password. Regards!
Guest biva
Hello alex ill explain a bit more in detail and you may be able to help me- i have set up a new database i have set the passwords etc carefully and am following the installation instructions i have downloaded from thi site im not sure if im making a mistake with the LOCAL HOST i am using biva.co.uk which is my site it says also that i do not have to change any file permission because i am on a windows server is there a file somwehere in the folders for cubecart that i have to change manually? i have uploaded the cubecart file to the same dierctory, httpdocs, that holds my other database.... it feels like you said, a password problem etc but i have tried several times and it still gives me the same response ** mysitename.co.uk/cubecart/admin gives me that response i posted ** mysitname.co.uk/cubecart/index.php takes me back to the installation page for cubecart where i enter passwords etc..... i have been through it about 5 times resetting passwords, changing database name, trying to ensure i have the right passwords etc but to no avail do you have anymore advice? kind regards toni
Guest biva
Well I'm not sure what I did but somehow it is now working.....on my server it is possible to change file permissions, which i didnt know about so perhaps it was just simply that whilst installing i was acknowledging that windows servers dont need to change permissions or something as such, .....however i did change them when i worked out how to do it..... and voila all of a sudden i was in to the admin page...... thank you for any replies
