Guest
What is all this for Root SECURE Public HTML Folder to store: (Include Trailing Slash) and whats the benift of using it Benefit of using SSL? All passwords and some personal data is encrypted VIA Secure Socket Layers, and stored in the database using an MD5 hash (random numbers and letters). In the days of identity theft it's a good thing to have.
Guest EverythingWeb
Just a point of clarification, using SSL in CubeCart does not make the STORAGE engine any different, it is purely a Transporataion protocol. We advise ALL of our clients to have an SSL installed on their CubeCart store, in fact we don't give them a coice, because like the poster above said, in this day of age, people like to see security and know that their personal data is held securely. What you do with it after its been securely transmitted to your server from the clients browser, is entirely up to you.

Guest EverythingWeb
can or cant get back into your admin panel? If you have locked yourself out of the admin panel with non-working SSL facilities, you will need to use the unlock tool provided here: http://www.cubecart.com/site/helpdesk/inde...&pcid=5&nav=0,

When you set up your path information, that sets up all of your links on your site to got the right server side, secure or unsecure and if the wrong info is in there, then the link paths are messed up. Also, the cookies are set using this info, and you are passing information between the secure side and the unsecure side. If the path info is wrong, this will cause a problem. However, there is a chance that your path info is right. There are several people having this problem, including myself. I have tried my best to verify my settings, through my own testing, through contacting devillion and through asking my webhost who has cubecart experience. I have not been able to determine that my settings are bad, yet I am still having this problem. if you search with the term "empty" you will find at least four topics with this problem. In the bugs.cubecart site number FS#341 also directly describes this problem. you can get rid of the problem by deleting your cookies, but a customer generally won't think of that, so what ends up happening is you lose the order. Viss, When I have just tried to check, your site was unavailable, but could you please confirm which version of CubeCart you are running. Thanks. I am having this problem too, was there ever any resolution to this bug that was reported? http://bugs.cubecart.com/?do=details&id=341 -m :on2long:

Guest
Viss, what you really need is to give one of us access to your store and site. We know what we're looking for and how to fix things. There are several VERY knowledgable, trustworthy people on here who can help you through your issue. I'd say that it's most likely a simple configuration issue, but without looking at what you have, none of us can say for sure.
