Guest chantesse Posted May 6, 2006 Share Posted May 6, 2006 Being a Mon'n'Pop business we envisage taking a holiday sometime, plus a week out at the NEC with our trade stand. If we are away for a week we'd like our Cubecart shop to be browsable but with clear siigning that we are not taking orders until xx.xx.xx and it should not be possible to fill your shopping cart. If we are away for a few days then we can accept orders but need clear signing that dispatch won't be until the xx.xx.xx etc. The current Offline setting in Cubecart - "The store is currently offline. Please visit again soon" gives a very poor impression - customers might even think you'd gone out of business or didn't pay your Hosting bill! And being plain text, it is not easy to improve much. Guest degsey69 Posted May 6, 2006 Share Posted May 6, 2006 Why dont you do the catalogue mod in cubecart.org with a brief meseage on the home page that the site is open for browsing only until such and such a date when the shoping cart will be open again. The mod is very simple and takes out the shopping cart but leaves the prices, back up the old files and restore whe you return from vacation. :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest chantesse Posted May 7, 2006 Share Posted May 7, 2006 Had a look and yes it fits the bill quite nicely. Would be perfect if it was switchable depending on the Shop Offline setting in Admin... I also noticed in the meantime that you can paste html into the Store Offline message in Admin to improve the look of the message. Thanks!
