Guest Garbanzo
I'm trying to use up the whole width for my topheader in killer skin but it's not working. I've tried many different widths for my banner but they always get chopped or are too small when viewed in different resolutions or in a smaller browser box. I tried changing width: 940px; to width: 100%; I also tried it with that line removed but same problem. Any suggestions? #topHeader { text-align: right; height: 100px; width: 940px; background-image: url(../styleImages/backgrounds/topHeader.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center; Do I need to change anything in files besides layout.css? Guest wamasterhunter
If you are using a picture, it can't resize like that. It has to be a set size. Setting it at 100% won't do any good. I like to keep mine below 700 pixels, so that smaller browsers won't have a problem.
Guest Garbanzo
Thanks for the reply! that makes sense. I got around it by using a wide banner (940px) with no text on the right side and positioned it on the left side so when it gets cut off on the right it still looks good. I'm sure theres a proper way to do this but It's beyond me.
markscarts
that *is* the proper way to do it, LOL Also, as long as your banner ends in a solid color on the right side, you can keep it relatively small and set a background color to match it on the division :P
Guest Garbanzo
I have to thank you not just for that compliment but for your easy to understand tutorials, They are the reason my shop is almost finished, with custom boxes and features that a week ago I thought I would never be able to do. I highly recommend Markscarts tutorials for everyone that doesn't want to settle for a stock shop. A big thanks
