Changing the default product/cat_id to a custom one..??

Hi there; just wondering if its possible to have a custom productId number ie

Standard default one = http://www.mysite.com/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=4

and change it to - say a isbn/upc/ean/manufacturer/whatever number etc

http://www.mysite.co.uk/store/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=01234567890

Is this possible or is it way out and a major mod change?

also therefore changing the seo mod to look like

from: prod_##.html to: 01234567890.html

First, I am assuming you understand that there is a difference between product code and productId? You can specify any product code you wish when you add a product, you may use an ISBN there if it's what you want.

The productId has to do with db management. This number is a sequential number that is automaticlly given to each new db entry in the inventory table. It is how CubeCart database keeps up with db entries. The only way to change this number is to go into db and change it.
