CubeCart as a module?

I am wondering if anyone has tried to use CubeCart as a module that integrates into their main website minimally.

I would like to have visitors see monthly specials, as products, that they can click on that relate to what page they are on in our main site. I want to get these dynamically pulled from the CubeCart installation and when clicked then pass thru into full cart installation directory where I will have a customized template matching the main site.

http://www.ghimaging.com/staging shows the basic layout. The picture with the girl would be a featured product pulled from a general category in the store. The site is not mainly an eCommerce site so I just want to have parts of the ecommerce unless someone specifically goes to the store.

I know this can be easily achieved just creating an image and putting in the proper item url but I will need people other than myself to add items to the CubeCart admin interface and have them show up on different pages of the non shopping cart side of the site.

I guess I just want to be able to "include" certain parts from CubeCart without much hassle.
