Guest
How do I upgrade the mysql DB from 3.0.14 to 3.0.17? After installing 3.0.17, can I just use phpmyadmin to restore the previous version over to the newest version without things getting messed up? Currently using the "killer" skin in both versions... with just a couple images changed.
Guest mig6
You must run the php script located at the folder upgrade, then follow instructions and thats all, its very simple..... after making upgrade you will need to delete the php script from your host... cheers

Guest
There are no database changes between 3.0.16 and 3.0.17. So run the 3.0.16 instructions and you'll be fine. :)

Another thing is this...there is no upgrade script for 3.0.16 it stops at 3.0.13 (inside the 3.0.17 zip file), so how do I do this now? Ok need one more answered.. Do I first do this upgrade and then afterwards use phpmyadmin to update the 3.0.17 database with the 3.0.14 database ? or how do I do this exactly? Guest
You shouldn't need to use PHPMyAdmin for anything. When you upgrade, you don't run the Install like to do with a fresh install. You just upload all the files except the list below then follow any upgrade instructions that came with the new release. The things you don't upload are: /install/ /includes/global.inc.php /language/en/home.inc.php You'll want to delete those from the newly unzipped files then upload the rest. Oh....also, if you have any skin changes and have NOT renamed the skin folder, then don't upload any skins at all. Plus not uploading the /skins/ and /pear/ folder will make the upload much shorter. :)

You still didn't answer my question as to how to run the upgrade.php script for 3.0.17 when there is none? and there also is not one for 3.0.14 - 3.0.15 up to 3.0.
Guest
But I did answer your question....you just didn't know it. Upgrade scripts only exist if there are database changes between versions. If there are no database changes, then there is no upgrade script. If there's no upgrade script then all you have to do is upload the new files. :)

Guest
Sir William - why not upload the Pears folder? I've made layout changes so presumably I shouldn't upload the skins folder, but why not the pears folder? thanks for the assistance
