jclanin
What is the relevance to the order number? It is very long - I would like a much shorter number that is consecutive & date based. Any thoughts on how I would change this? thanks, JC
Guest xceejayx
The order numbers are date based. For example here is an order the was made on my store today... 071121-144958-5130 071121 = Year Month Date 144958 = Hour Minute Second 5130 = This is just a random number i believe, to avoid multiple orders having the same nuber if they are placed at exactly the same time I think this is much better than having, say, Order 1, Order 2, Order 3. I personally wouldnt want my customers knowing how many orders i get, as its nothing to do with them really.

Guest Brivtech
It would have been nice to have consecutive order numbers as an alternative, i.e. 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, etc.
Guest Charles2005
One thing that I did notice about the order number is that it is not taking into account the time offset in the general settings. I have my time offset by -6 hours(Server using GMT time) What file is the Order Number Generated in? I haven't had a chance to look yet but I don't think it would be that hard to make it use the time offset. In CC 3.0.17 anyway!
Guest Charles2005
I have reported this in the bugs area along with a way to fix it. The fix is for CC3. http://bugs.cubecart.com/view.php?id=
