Adding Product Weight To Category's Thumbnail Page

I've successfully added the weight of the item to the View Product page, but how do I also add it to the View Category page?

(I looked here on the forum to work out how to put it onto the product page.)

The same coding rules don't seem to apply... what am I missing?

I've tried putting in

<br>

<a href="index.php?act=viewProd&productId={PRODUCT_ID}" class="txtDefault">{TXT_PRODUCT_WEIGHT} sqm

onto the ViewCat.tpl.

All I'm getting is the text. (By the way, my weights are actually sqm.)
