Parse Error: Parse Error, Unexpected T_variable

I get this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /var/www/vhosts/purrfectpineapples.com/httpdocs/store/includes/content/index.inc.php on line 85

Line 85 currently reads:

$index->assign("VAL_WIDTH", $config['gdthumbSize']+75);

Any idea what could be wrong here?

Note: the thumbnail size option I have it set to in the admin cp is 120 - i dont know if that has anything to do with it or not.. or if that "75" should say 120 and not 75. But anyways if you have any idea whats wrong there please let me know.
