Adding a drop down menu ?

Hi

I want to add a drop down menu similar to http://www.cartridgestore.net/shop/ on the left, with a list of product by manufacturer.

Is this possible, its of course not just the drop down but the ability of the system to recognise products from one imanufacture and display them.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
