Max image is set small, but product image does not resize to thumbnail

Hi everyone, new user here!

I'm loving cube cart, only problem I'm come across is that despite my max image size being set really low (250), my images which are 600+ are not resizing to thumbnails. Anyone know what might be causing this?

I using version 3 (latest update) and started off from the legend template.
