I have gone back and forth with CC suport and Paypal.. and have the first useful reply from Paypal. "After examining your log file, I do see that you are using the endpoint https://payflowpro.verisign.com:443. Although that URL should be still available, it is no longer supported. Your API requests should be submitted against the endpoint URL https://payflowpro.paypal.com:443 for live transactions, and https://pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com:443 for test transactions. If you are continuing to experience problems submitting to https://payflowpro.paypal.com:443, please let me know and I'll do additional troubleshooting. At this time our endpoint servers are showing as online and available; however, in the event of a system outage, we do post notification at https://www.pdncommunity.com/pdn, in the "System Updates" section on the lower-right side of the page (you can also subscribe to RSS feeds for the updates at that location, so that you can receive on-demand notification)."
