Sales items page edits

Using 4.2.2 and Caretta-Soft skin. Is there some place to add a description to the sales items page? I want to add a note telling people there are new items on sale every month without making a really long page name. Since it seems to feed off the ViewCat template I don't see how I can do it.

I know I could create a new sales category and delete references in the menu to the automatic one, but I'd much rather not have to go through and add sale items manually. It would be too much of a time hog considering how often our sales rotate.
