Add categories to a horizontal menu bar at top

I'm so new and I'm not doing anything right.

I previously tried cc 3 for a day and decided to get cc4.3. The skin I used had the categories at the top horizontal menu, and the site docs horizontally at the bottom. I liked that and would like to implement it in cc4.3. See test version at http://www.jacksonjewellery.com/shop.

I have modified my own skin from KitaBlue but it gives me sitedocs in the top. If I put in [CATEGORIES} it gives me a box like the box of categories on the left.

Can anyone tell me how to have the categories show up there instead of sitedocs as a list going across instead of it keeping things formatted as a box? I'd also like to know how to add other links but when I've tried that they show up in different colours and styles.

Sorry to be so needy.

Thank you.

Hi jacksond

I'm also new to this, so dont really know, but this worked for me.

Basic how to for Horizontal Categories

Just add the following lines into the "layout.css" for the "#mainmenue-nav"

#mainmenu-nav {

float: left;

display: inline; /*fixes IE6 float bug*/

Anyway hope that helps

Now I just need to know is how to put the Sale Items and Gift Certificates into a sub catergories???

Cheers
