I've just installed Cubecart for the first time.

Everything seems to have gone fine with the installation of the files.

However, when I click on 'store home' at the top left of the admin page I get a 'not found' message rather than the store.

The 'not found' page has the address www.mydomainhere.co.uk/store/index.php

The page can be opened by removing the index.php and thus going to www.mydomainhere.co.uk/store/

I've tried modifying the settings in the SEO section of the admin page (including adding a .htaccess file), which various forums seem to suggest is significant for recognising files, but to no avail. I may have done it wrongly though, as I'm totally new to Cubecart and related technologies.

Any advice?

Later:

I've discovered that the problem can be solved by setting the SEO option to “Use FTP generated PHP pages (If all other methods fail)". This doesn’t seem to be the best possible solution judging by the wording, so I'd still be pleased to know what the underlying problem is and the best solution. Thanks!
